My name is Catherine Malcolm and I have been granted the enormous privilege of leading the team at Headstart nursery. My aim in the role as the Nursery Manager is to create an enriched learning environment that is welcoming, fun and educational - whilst demonstrating through our practice the reasons why we provide families with real confidence in what we do.
I have been working in childcare since 1995 and have worked various roles where I have gained the wealth of knowledge and experience which has equipped me for this role.
I am a fully qualified Manager, having completed my SVQ Level 3 as well as my SVQ Level 4 in Social Services (Children and Young People) and BA Degree in Childhood Practice.
I am very passionate about ensuring the children within our care are given a headstart in life - full of opportunities. It is a very rewarding job and I feel privileged to be part of the lives of the young children we educate and care for. There will be no limit on the huge amounts of playing experiences and fun your child will have, whilst learning through the Pre birth to three , Curriculum for Excellence and GIRFEC.
My commitment is to the continuous development of both staff team and the nursery. This will help to ensure that the service we provide will give your child that headstart and ready them for their next steps in life by becoming successful, responsible and confident individuals who have a lot of care and fun along the way.
